March 20, 2012 Board Meeting Agenda Item #37 Title APPROVAL TO AWARD BID #12-0006 FOR LANDSCAPE PLANTS AND GROUND MAINTENANCE MATERIALS AND SERVICES Description Bids to provide 'Landscape Plants and Ground Maintenance Materials and Services' were received from four vendors on February 15, 2012.  The bids of Big Earth Landscape Supply and Hazeltine Nurseries, Inc., were the best low bids meeting the advertised specifications based on a sealed scenario.  Reasons for not selecting the apparent low bid are included with the bid tabulation.  This bid is for a period of one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods.  The funding for these purchases is contained in the transfer from capital budget allocated to the Facilities Services Department. Recommendation That the bids of Big Earth Landscape Supply and Hazeltine Nurseries, Inc., to provide 'Landscape Plants and Ground Maintenance Materials and Services, in an amount not to exceed $325,000, be approved for award and purchase.
